Born from a moment of inspiration on Calton Hill – the frustration of being stuck to a screen and not seeing daylight, and the negative effects of working in isolation – The Outsiders is a breath of fresh air for freelancers and solopreneurs craving connection, support, and the rejuvenating power of the outdoors.
Founded by Katie Paterson, a global adventurer and freelance comms and marketing specialist, The Outsiders in a community hosting regular networking excursions across the city, and has grown exponentially since it began in January 2024.
11 months on, Katie was interviewed by Angela Casey, founder and host of the Edinburgh Outdoors Podcast. Angela is on a mission to spotlight the amazing people and organisations across Edinburgh who are working in the outdoors.
